I have a confession to make. When I was in high school, I met someone that was absolutely amazing. We hit it off really fast, and started having lunch together a few times a week. Even though we didn’t spend a lot of extended time together, every single minute was truly unbelievable. We always met at the same place around the same time, but every date brought something new and exciting. It never got tasteless or stale.
This is a relatively, well, boring part of the NBA season for the Lakers. All the hype of the Kobe, Shaq reunion during All-Star weekend is fading. Our matchups with the East elite – Boston, Cleveland, Orlando – have come and gone. Barring a freak accident involving both Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol, the road to the NBA Finals will travel through Staples Center.
